Dear May

Written by Eva Barnsley.

May brought some pretty drastic changes, a reminder that shit happens.

"Ugly" Clothes - Take a look at the unexpected aisles of your thrift stores. Dig deep to find the potential of unwanted items. I recently picked up a huge pair of brown corduroy 3/4 shorts but belted with a crop top, they look cute! These unwanted clothes are usually super cheap and unique.

Sun Dresses - The clear blue skies and sun have inspired very summery dresses recently. Pastel pink patterns and embroidered dresses have been a big staple.

Tinted Sunglasses - I recently bought a pair of thin pink tinted shades from Mignonne. Small framed glasses have become very popular, and I love adding colour to my outfits with them.

Floral Fingernails - I got fake nails as a treat this week and had tiny dried flower petals glued onto them. Super subtle, cute and wholesome.

Evil Genius - A Netflix series that follows a twisted bank heist that happened in 2003 in the USA. I'm yet to finish the series, but it's definitely a show that hooked me this month.

27 Gone Too Soon - I watched this late at night with a friend on my bedroom wall using a projector. Even with seeing half of it, it's clear that this documentary is worth the watch. Especially if you too idolise Hendrix, Joplin and Morrison.

Journal - My friends and I started journalling daily using The Messy Heads Journal Prompts, a great way to get into regularly journalling. I still use the prompts sometimes, but now journal based on how I feel and what I'm into. It's a great way to get out all that you've needed to say, and a great way to spend your time!

Find cafes/bars - Take your friends out, and find yourselves a new 'place'. For those in Hanoi, Cong Caphe, The Snug and Birdcage are our go tos.
Pure Nowhere - Founded by the lovely Kyla Rain and now co-edited with Abby Strangward, Pure Nowhere publishes quality content daily.
