Meet Naomi

Written by Eva Barnsley
One day whilst scrolling through my instagram feed, I came across a glitter fairy; Naomi Roestel. Her instagram was full of dark, wild hair and adventures in sand and salty water. Collections of sunsets, denim skirts and long flowy dresses all blended together to create something beautiful. I fell in love and had to contact her immediately.

“She did not need much, wanted very little. A kind word, sincerity, fresh air, clean water, a garden, kisses, books to read, sheltering arms, a cozy bed, and to love and be loved in return.”

And on that note, let’s meet Naomi:
Who are you?
I'm Naomi. I'm a girl who loves to sing, to make accessories, to dance in the rain, I feel most relaxed walking in nature, to be surrounded in nature and lights.

Where is home?
Home is where I fell in love with, to me the earth is home.

State the three most important things in your life…
Nature, happiness and love.

Describe your ideal morning…
Wake up at 5am watching sunrise, make myself a cup of tea or coffee. Then eat something, read a little, sing a little then start to draw down my idea for chokers and work on the design.

What is one piece of advice you would give to everybody?
Say nice things, be positive not only to yourself but also to others, whenever you're sad look into your sadness, do not run away from it, the deeper you look into your sadness the more you understand it.

What interests you? What do you see yourself doing in the future?
Lots of things interested me, hand make all of my crazy ideas, write songs, make my own clothes. In the near future I want to open my choker store as soon as possible and finish my graphic design school and start a band to jam every night. In the far future I picture myself to have my own clothing line, buy myself a seaside house, grow my own food, have my own bar to play music whenever I like. And travel a lot.

What music do you listen to?
I listen to indie pop, indie rock, psychedelic rock, a bit of blues, rock n roll, Grimes music, oh god I like too many genres I can't remember all of them.

Who are your largest inspirations?
My largest inspiration is Janis Joplin and her sense of fashion.

How have you developed your own style?
I love to wear all the stuff find  in thrift shops, mostly 90s, 80s, 70s, 60s stuff. The reason I got all the style I have today is in all the movies I watch, mangas and books I read (I even like to wear pirate-like clothes).

What's your Instagram?
