According to my horoscope, August had optimism in the air. I’ve discovered a lot about myself, and I feel a positive change happening. I’ve met so many amazing people these past few months and I’ve gotten to know them a lot better this month. I start school this month and I have a much more positive outlook on going into my sophomore year. I hope this month was filled many trips to the beach or fantastic vacations.

I’ve only recently got into wearing printed button up shirts. They turn a normally causal look into something a little bit more formal without coming off too dressed up. I’ve been wearing my button ups with a the sleeves rolled up paired with a black pair of shorts and boat shoes.

I live for a statement piece so why not have that be on your face. I’ve been getting really bold with my choice on sunglasses this month. I have a pair of heart eye glasses my friend got me for me on my birthday from amazon, and they haven’t left my bag since. I also picked up a pair of red sunglasses that are in the shape of lips. Even though they look a little crazy I feel like the coolest kid on earth whenever I have them on.

Every since I saw my friend Brett rocking some rings, I immediately thought to myself why am I not wearing some. Ever since June I’ve been starting to wear more jewelry. It started with a simple wave necklace I got from this shop on Block Island. I also got a minimal silver wave ring and when my mom got back from her trip she gifted me a silver ring also.

I’m a guy and the thought of wearing nail polish rubbed me the wrong way for some strange reason. But everything changed after watching Conan Gray sit on his bedroom floor painting his nails while talking about masculinity. I always struggled with my identity and often found that I was trying to be something I’m not. It’s time to accept that I’m somewhat of a girly boy and I don’t care. It first started with going to the nail salon and only getting a manicure with a clear coat, but I’m now rocking holographic nails and I’m obsessed. Sally Hanson’s “Let’s Get Digital” gel nail polish has been one of my favorites, it’s the perfect amount of periwinkle with a pink hue whenever it hits the light.

This book has been sitting on my shelf for years. I begged my mom to get me this book after I watched Ingrid Nilsen’s May Favorites video back in 2014. I read the first 100 pages and didn’t pick up again till this year and it’s amazing. Almost everyone can relate to this book because most of us have gone through something big in our lives that we didn’t have control over. That big moment that we go through in life isn’t always the brightest or happiest moment but it’s how we bounce back from it. It gives you this whole new outlook on life and your life completely changes. It’s really about the mindset you put yourself in and how your life can start all over again.

They make videos about veganinism and they’re are so informative and they’re editing skills are out of this world. Nina has her own blog and I can’t believe I didn’t know about for until a few months ago. She blog covers many topics from dealing with break ups to vegan breakfast ideas. Her blog is perfect if you’re looking for meal ideas or maybe just need a little advice.

Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness
After watching Queer Eye I fell in love with Jonathan much like everyone else did after watching Queer Eye, and when I found out he had his own podcast I literally died. I didn’t listen to podcast at all before listening to this one and I slowly started to add more and more podcast to my library. On this podcast Jonathan brings in a new guest every week to talk about something he’s curious about hence the name of the show. It’s super informative and funny and super easy to digest. I highly recommend this podcast if you’re new to listening to them and you’ll never look back.

I had mix feelings about starting this show, since 2,000 please petitioned to get the show canceled before it even aired on Netflix. This super controversial show follows Patty (Debby Ryan) who’s been overweight for years which caused her to be bullied and swept under the rug. But once she got her jaw wired things quickly started to change. Patty is now thin and starts seeking revenge on anyone who hurt her when she was overweight. I didn’t expect to get sucked in the way I did. I found myself staying up to two in the morning at times because I couldn’t stop watching. All and all if you’re looking for a campy dark humor show this is the one for you.

I love a Kristen Stewart moment and this made me love her even more. The movie starts out a little slow and I didn’t know if I was going to like it. The script was really well written with comedy and drama perfectly woven into it, and the outfits in this movie were really cute.

If you know me, you know I have so much love for Timothèe Chalamet. I also have a deep love for the entertainment company A24 who’s put out amazing movies like Lady Bird, Heredity, and their newest film Eight Grade. Hot Summer Nights takes place in Cape Cod in 1991 and follows Daniel (Timothèe) who finds himself chasing a live fast die young life style once he starts selling drugs.

I discovered the joy of disposable cameras my senior year of high school and I wish I remembered them sooner. It’s different taking a picture on a Polaroid then a disposable camera because you don’t get the instant gratification and I love that. The best part about taking pictures on a disposable is the waiting. You don’t know how bad or good the pictures are until the pictures develop and it’s honestly the best feeling ever.

Even though I only discovered drag a little less than a year ago this hasn’t stopped my passion for it at all. I love that anyone can do drag just not men, and it’s a form of art. It’s basically playing dress up but as an adult and you can become whoever you want to be. My favorite part about getting into drag is covering your eyebrows. I know right that sounds insane because it is. The first time you take a glue stick to your eyebrows you honesty think your eyebrows off. After they set and draw on new ones you can take a sigh of relief. Some of my favorite queens are Sasha Velour, Monet X Change, and Miz Cracker.
