Dear December,
Thank you for a month of rediscovery and realisation.
Boots - As an early Christmas present, I received two pairs of Dr Martens boots (Black 2976 Smooth and Brown Elmer Chukka). The quality is amazing and they are easily styled with any outfit. Winter months are ideal to purchase your own pair of boots as it gets colder.
Red - With the holiday or Christmas season, comes blasts of red. Red berets, shoes, coats, pants have all become incredibly in style this season and with such a bright colour, what better way to celebrate holidays!
Berets - Speaking of red berets, all sorts of berets are ideal this month as they allow us to stay warm while looking as if we belong on the streets of Paris. Berets come in many styles, patterns and are versatile in many tastes of fashion which means we can all wear them.
Pajamas - And as gorgeous as these items are, pajamas have also been a great go to for December. I had not relaxed and sat in bed watching Netflix in far too long and being in the comfort of my pajamas reminded me to take time to myself more often.

She's Gotta Have It - The cold weather gives a great excuse to stay in bed and watch Netflix. She's Gotta Have It is a revisit of Spike Lee's first feature film from 1986 in the form of a Netflix series. It tells stories of feminism, racism, relationships and sexuality whilst portraying a stunning image of the starving artist. I watched the series over two days, and it is a great binge worthy series.
Easy (Season 2) - Season one was a great season, but the Netflix series' second season hooked me and I binged it in just one day. Each episode follows different characters of Chicago and the series explores sex, open relationships, homosexuality, feminity, religion and modern technology. It reminds me of a more laid back and relatable version of Black Mirror.

Vlogmas - I participated in Vlogmas this year on my own YouTube channel. I religiously followed other youtubers' Vlogmas such as Mika Francis and Meghan Hughes.
Relax - Over the past two weeks, I have allowed myself to just do nothing. It reminded me that we often forget to just stop. Breathe. Relax.
Get off your phone - A full post is to come to Cinnamon Honey regarding this, but in short, just a little less screen time can be so beneficial. I have enjoyed spending time with people in person, and being there with them 100% with no distraction of a vibrating phone by my side. I have enjoyed replacing screen time with reading, and educating myself and I would recommend this to anyone who has considered it. There are no losses!
the sun and her flowers - I recently purchased this book and after reading Milk and Honey, my high expectations have been filled with Rupi Kaur's second book. This time focusing a lot on her adolescence and battles with self discovery, I have found it much more relatable and so, so moving. Add this to your reading lists!
The Messy Heads - The Messy Heads team have recently reworked their site and it looks amazing! If you are a fan of Cinnamon Honey and you haven't seen The Messy Heads, go and check them out.
Film - My point and shoot film camera broke recently, and my friend was kind enough to give me a second hand one of her own. There is something special about film, the light streaks of expired film, the joy of taking trips to get your rolls developed unknowing of what will be returned to you. Of course, you can edit your images to look like they were shot on film but the rawness and physicality of it has me falling in love.
