It was the time of "peace, love and"... let's just go with "happiness". These were arguably the best times of human existence. Presley visited the White House, the ideology of racism began to decay, the first video game was released, Polaroids could be instantly printed in colour, Woodstock was born and music became better than ever. Unfortunately, there are few ways for us to take in the vibes from the 60s and 70s. One of these ways being through films. Here is a little collection I have put together for you when you're in need of some peace, love, and happiness.
NOTE: I wrote this post in early 2016 but never posted it along with many other posts that were never published so feast your eyes on some older stuff of mine.Almost Famous (2000)
Written and directed by Cameron Crowe, "A high-school boy is given the chance to write a story for Rolling Stone Magazine about an up-and-coming rock band as he accompanies it on their concert tour." - IMDb. This movie not only has an amazing cast, plot, costumes, but the soundtrack is to die for. From Zeppelin to Elton John, the entire movie has some of the greatest hits of the 60s and 70s.

The 2007 film was directed by Julie Taymor and is about "The music of the Beatles and the Vietnam War form the backdrop for the romance between an upper-class American girl and a poor Liverpudlian artist." - IMDb. The plot, and once again particularly music make the movie especially unique as Across The Universe only contains songs from The Beatles. This movie is beautiful and embraces anti-war and love promoting movements.

Dazed and Confused (1993)
The film was written and directed by Richard Linklater and is about "The adventures of high school and junior high students on the last day of school in May 1976." - If I am honest, I was a little underwhelmed by the film with its basic plot as it is a little uneventful but I still loved it.
