Meet Tia

Written by Eva Barnsley Cronulla-raised teen, Tia Henricks, is an aspiring writer and creativity enthusiast, inspiring many other teenagers in many industries. I recently interviewed Tia, here's what she had to say...

Tell me about the book you're creating, what process have you gone through to make it?
It's a collection of works, quotes those 3am haunting poems. At the moment, the cost is what's blocking my creation, but I'm thinking about hand making them, they will take time and effort but it guess it's worth it.

What inspires you to write? How do you get in the mood?
It's usually a comfort thing or I have a spark to write, I'll have a faint idea and work around it or a absolute burning one where I'm scrambling for something to write on. Hahah

Do you think you will pursue writing in the future?
I will always write, it keeps me sane man, it's not something id ever give up, it's alcohol to an alcoholic, it's addictive.

What inspires your retro taste in fashion?
My mood is a major influence on my style, if I feel like nothing but bob Dylan and the weathers cool I'll chuck on some flares with a a flares top, or overalls 99.9% of the time, with a band tee, I love the 60s 70s and 90s fashion I sort of just combine everything and do my own thing! if I'm chilling around the coast usually I'll have some of my favourite Andi Bagus or south of the border crochet and a kimono or these rad light patched overalls.

Where do you usually get your clothes from? What are some of your favourite clothing items?
Ops shops markets, it's almost like a stamp collection but of  clothing I have this mad tee from Afends it's mustard and says hey babe take a walk on the wild side, I freakin love that, this set from Andi Bagus, it's a top and Long skirt ahh it's amazing, all my overalls, my jean jacket and my pink floyd tee with a hat! I have wayyy to many.

What advice would you give to your younger self?
Things you care about now do not matter, put your effort into loving people who actually love and care for you, your mother isn't worth fighting for she left, move on treating people like shit will not make you look better, put you energy into something you love it will pay off.

Who are the largest inspirations of your life?
My soulmate, Angelina Jolie, my friends who push me towards my goals anyone who is there watching me and giving me life advice.

Where do you see yourself in the future?
I hope pursuing and working with brands I love, creating, designing with labels collaborating, traveling, writing connecting with other creatives, I want to eventually have my own label, inspired by all my travels collecting different patterns and Cutouts and put together a label for the star gazers the moon watchers and the travelers!
